Packaging Engineer at Semtech
Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq: SMTC) is a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal
semiconductor products for use in communications, portable devices, computers,
and industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide package engineering support to business units throughout Semtech.
- Work with assembly subcontractors to develop/qualify new materials, processes, and packages.
- Periodic travel to Asian subcontractor facilities.
- Recommend the appropriate materials, process flow, and packages for Semtech devices
- Coordinate package qualifications
- Answer assembly and packaging questions
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Physics, EE, ME, or Material Science
- At least 5 years experience in Plastic Package development and assembly engineering
- Working experience at or with Asian subcontract assembly facilities desired
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Flip Chip and/ or thermal analysis experience is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Multi task oriented with a pro-active approach to solving problems
