This is a position for hybrid packaging and/or optical packaging engineer background
Responsibilities
- Candidate will be a key part of a new product development team working on advanced
optical packaging for high-speed fiber optic communication.
- Candidate will be responsible for:
Development of manufacturing techniques, selection of materials and epoxies,
nd establishment of new processes.
- Specification of tooling and automation equipment based on design requirements.
- Support the new product introduction process, from first prototypes thru design
freeze.
- Develop process documentation and transfer new processes to our high-volume
manufacturing sites in Asia .
- Provide initial key feedback to the design team on the manufacturability
of the new product.
- Evaluate and establish process capability and take responsibility for
assembly yield during the development phase.
- Provide the required process and equipment training for technicians
and offshore personnel as products transfer to production.
Qualifications:
- Master or Ph.D. in Engineering
- Strong academic background and knowledge of opto-electronic packaging design and assembly
- Hands-on experience with various assembly equipment and processes,
such as epoxy/eutectic die or component attach, wire/ribbon bonding,
laser welding, hermetic sealing
- Knowledgeable in materials property and process, yield analysis and enhancement,
failure mode and analysis, quality tools, such as DOE, SPC, and Six-Sigma process
and analysis
- Familiar with Industry Test Standards, such as JEDEC, EIA, Telcordia, Mil std etc.
- Familiar with NPI and product life cycle process
- Strong program and risk management skills
- Previous experiences on box types of TOSA/ROSA assembly is preferred
