Objective
The ambition of the Chalmers University of Technology is to
be one of the top technical universities in Europe and in nisch areas, Chalmers
University is targeting to be one of the top universities in the world.
Similar ambition holds for the electronics packaging and production group
at Chalmers. This can be achieved by offering high class and professional
courses in all levels at the university. Today it offers only on campus.
However, Sweden is a long and scarcely populated nation with travel distance
between cities. Therefore, to bring the course on to the web will be a great
advantage for the students in the country. In addition to this, for the
new established graduate school in electronics production E-PROPER funded
by the Strategical Fundation which involves several universities in Sweden,
there is a great need for distance learning. Internet will be a great media
for this. For the world-wide community, there is a growing need to have
access to the knowledge generated in research lab in Sweden and USA in the
area of conductive adhesives for electronics packaging. This technology
is getting increasing awareness and importance also due to its capabilities
and possibility to satisfy the miniaturization needs without using lead.
