OVERVIEW:
This technical short course provides a solid introduction to MR Head technology and performance characteristics. A non-mathematical approach is used to understand the MR effect as well as the differences between inductive and MR head technologies. Actual MR head designs are explored in simple terms and basic comparisons are made between MR and inductive heads. Lectures, demonstrations, and discussions cover the concepts and terminology necessary to obtain a firm practical understanding of MR Heads, how they work, and their application in disk drives.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Technicians and entry level engineers working in: failure analysis, quality, test engineering, manufacturing engineering, marketing, sales, and process engineering. Managers and engineers looking to broaden their knowledge base should also consider attending.
