- Technical Scope
-
The focal point of TC-EM is manufacturing and the associated technologies. Automatic processes, especially robotics, control, and quality, and their management, are of prime interest. Applications of new materials, which will save process time, improve quality, or lead to product manufacturing innovation, are stressed. Examples of new technologies which have been of interest recently are surface mount technology for the design and assembly of printed wiring boards, and production issues with multi-chip modules.
- Conferences
-
- The International Electronics Manufacturing Technology (IEMT) Symposium is the key conference. A Steering Committee makes top-level decisions about where each IEMT will be held and which partners are to be involved. The Conference Committee for any particular IEMT Symposium consists of members from the CPMT Society and from co-sponsors (typically regional or local CPMT Chapters).
- The IEEE Lithography Workshop is a semiconductor-focused meeting that is scheduled every 18 months.
- Additional conferences are sponsored in areas that are appropriate for the Committee.
- While not a TC-EM sponsored conference, the Electronic Components and Technology Conference is an important conference for TC-EM, and our TC works with the ECTC's Program Committee on Manufacturing Technology.
- Short Courses
-
- There are no short courses available at this time.
- If you are interested in helping develop a short course, contact the TC Chair
- Publications
-
- The primary publication for the delivery of archival material is the IEEE
TRANSACTIONS ON ELECTRONICS PACKAGING MANUFACTURING. You may Review recent Tables of Contents, and we encourage you to submit a paper.
- Formal Proceedings are distributed at the IEMT conference. The Tables of Contents of recent IEMT's can be reviewed in IEEE XPLORE/IEL at the following locations:
(1988 - 1993) |
(1991 - 2002) | (2003 - 2004)
- Concerns:
-
The importance of manufacturing activities has always been difficult to convey to the practicing engineer. The efforts of TC-EM will continue to address reaching the key contributors. In line with this emphasis, new members are being recruited as well as a person or persons experience in creative web editing.
- Additional Information
-
- Anyone can be a participating member of one or more of the CPMT Society's TCs without belonging to the IEEE; most of our TCs have a mailing list, a newsletter, and a networking listing.
- Please contact members of the TC steering Committee.

- Committees Structure
- The Technical Committee on Electronics Manufacturing consists of a Chair and Vice-Chair along with an advisory board. The Advisory Board members consists of the chairs of each of the subcommittees on:
- Manufacturing
- Semiconductor Manufacturing
- EOS/ESD
- Nano Manufacturing
Each of the subcommittees has members involved in the operation of selected conferences. These representatives ensure communications with the CPMT Society.
