CPMT Technical Committee
on Green Electronics, Manufacturing, and Packaging

(TC-GEMP)

Scope

The committee deals with the environmental dimension of products and processes, esp. regarding manufacturing and packaging of electronics. This includes the reduction of hazardous materials, energy consumption, and material use, as well as the reuse of equipment and reusable components of production wastes. Since environmental issues are of global dimension, the TC-GEMP supports the globalization of CPMT. TC "Green electronics" will introduce environmental sessions in technical congresses and workshops to stimulate discussions among technicians, environmental engineers, and environmentalists in general. Together with other IEEE TCs, TC-GEMP will contribute to a sustainable development of electronics.
